Each mattress is made by hand, from organic cotton fabric, organic wool batting, and organic cotton batting. These inner spring mattresses deserve to lay on a box spring or supportive network. If you are not going to purchase a box spring, please place the mattress on a supportive framework of some kind. A Natural Home starts with US produced fabric and fiber and quilts the top layers together with cotton thread, then puts multiple layers of 100% organic cotton batting on a 510 (based on full size)13 gauge tempered steel inner spring. The innerspring mattress is made by the Amish. Each mattress is quite heavy and is about 9 inchs thick, however they do vay as they are hand made.
